I learned a few things from this trip to Queens College.
1. Boys and girls had to dress nicely to school in the 1950’s.
2. Parents didn’t approve of Rock and Roll.
3. Elvis Presley was the King of Rock and Roll.
4. Rock and Roll started in the 1950’s.
5. They made a huge pile of records in the street and ran it over with a steamroller to try to get rid of Rock and Roll.
I also really enjoyed this trip because of the good music. I learned some facts and last I got an experience of what it was like back then. I would be really excited if we got to go back there again.

My favorite part of the t rip to Queens College was when the band performed the last song “Twist and Shout.” It was really fun. Everyone started clapping their hands to the beat and jumping around. Lots of kids started singing along because they knew the song. The band did a great chord to end the whole show. It was great.

I learned that Africa came up with good music with instruments to rock and roll. Then the Africans brought that to America. I also learned that Elvis Presley mixed Rock and Roll with old music and combined that to music that everyone enjoyed. In the late 1960’s parents didn’t want their children to listen to rock and roll.

I enjoyed the show because the music was cool. There were many instruments in the show such as cello, saxophone, bass guitar, drums, etc. The music was very active and exciting. They played songs such as “Twist and Shout, “Lollipop," and "Loco-motion. " I recommend this show to people who enjoy rock and roll and want to learn more about it.
