| Barrio Grrrl!
Kennedy Center Theater for
Young Audiences on Tour
Wednesday, April 13
Grades 4-8
Spunky 9-year-old Ana fancies
herself a superhero. She and her invisible sidekick, Amazing
Voice, try to save every broken heart in el barrio. But with her
Mom far, far away in Iraq, Ana probably needs a little saving
herself. Specially commissioned and written by award winners
Quiara Alegría Hudes (In the Heights) and Bill Sherman (Electric
Company), who provide the world music–flavored songs, this is
a funny and warmly truthful play about balancing dreams and
reality while uncovering the values of friendship.
“… Broadway-level cast.” —DC Theatre Scene
