Kupferberg Center Performances @ QUEENS COLLEGE
ANNOUNCES ITS 2007-08 SEASON
-New season brings music, dance, family and special events to Queens-
(Flushing - September, 2007) - Vivian Charlop, Director of Kupferberg
Center Performances @ Queens College, is pleased to announce the 2007-08
season, which opens with An Evening with Michael Amante and Orchestra on
Saturday, September 15th at 8 PM, in Colden Auditorium. The concert also
kicks off Queens College Homecoming Weekend (1937-2007), a three-day
program of activities for all QC alumni in celebration and remembrance of
70 Years of Excellence!
The Classical Concert Series opens in November with Dame Evelyn Glennie,
one of the most eclectic and innovative musicians on the scene today.
Glennie has commissioned over 140 new works for solo percussion from many
of the world?s most eminent composers, records and composes music for film
and television, and gives more than 100 performances a year worldwide. All
five classical concerts are held in the intimate setting of the LeFrak
Concert Hall.
Kupferberg Center Performances continues the tradition of offering great
family entertainment at affordable prices. Let Us Entertain You features
six shows of joyous music, exciting theatre, and spectacular dance
beginning in October with the outstanding troupe Ballet Folklórico de
México. For the holidays, Moscow Ballet?s Great Russian Nutcracker is a
popular favorite.
Spring brings two noteworthy Special Events to Colden Auditorium. In
April, we're celebrating the ninth Black Cultural Arts with one of soul's
greatest groups- The O'Jays in Concert. Come May, In "The Mood" is a dazzling
1940's musical revue performed by the fabulous In The Mood Singers and
Dancers with the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra.
Revelations is a popular school-time concert series for children in grades
K-8. These one-hour performances, most with workshops afterward, include
musical theater, orchestral ensembles, acrobatic troupes, storytellers,
singers and dancers of ballet, jazz, and folk genres representing art
forms from the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. For more information or

College campus, between exits 23 & 24 of the eastbound service road of the
Long Island Expressway in Flushing. Free parking is available. Both Colden
Auditorium and LeFrak Concert Hall are wheelchair accessible, have
facilities for the hearing impaired, and are available for rental year
round.
