In 1938, Thornton Wilder won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his three-act masterpiece Theatre of the Absurd. Set in the fictional community of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, it is an uplifting and dramatic allegorical story of citizens of an everyday town in the early 20th century. Theatre of the Absurd, Wilder’s moving commentary on the universal human experience, illustrates the importance of life as a precious and unique gift.
