Set in 1973, Santiago Chile, Leo is the story of three young friends who form a bittersweet, love triangle. It explores the tensions from their maturing views on sexual identity, politics and art as their country collapses into fascism. Leo speaks to contemporary audiences also struggling to square their ideals in the world around them. This is the first U.S. reading for Leo.
Post-performance TalkBacks with playwright Rosa Laborde are moderated by Susan Einhorn at Queens College on March 3rd & 4th. TeatroStageFest hosts the TalkBack on March 5th at Playwrights Horizons. It is moderated by Susana Tubert, Producing Executive Director of TeatroStageFest and features: Rosa Laborde, Susana Einhorn, and Obbie Award winning Joanne Pottlitzer, recipient of two Ford Foundation grants (2007/2009) to consult with artists in Santiago, Chile, whose stories will appear in her upcoming book Symbols of Resistance: The Legacy of Artists under Pinochet.
